 Leslie Quinton and Cody
Dog Liver Disease "I got my wonderful retriever mix Cody through Ariel Rescue. After a few years, Cody developed symptoms of liver disease. Despite bringing Cody in for monthly visits to a veterinarian, Cody's health was deteriorating and his liver tests were abnormally high. Susan Davis, CCN did a comprehensive review of Cody's health. Working together with my veterinarian, she made recommendations regarding his diet, supplements and other holistic treatments (e.g. acupuncture). The results were amazing. Cody's liver tests are now normal and he is feeling and acting so much better."

 Teddy
Canine Liver Cancer In April 2008, our 10-year-old dog, Teddy, a Chow Chow rescue, was diagnosed with a liver tumor. Our vet did not know if it was cancer at the time. As Teddy’s tumor grew, he was able to be tested, and cancer was confirmed. We were told he was too old for conventional treatment and, as his cancer progressed, to simply keep him comfortable. The vet had no hope for his recovery. Our family decided to treat Teddy’s condition with a holistic approach. We found Susan Davis through her website. We scheduled a phone consult, and the surprising results began. Susan customized a diet and supplement plan for Teddy, and we saw a marked difference in just two weeks. His overall health continued to improve. We chose to have Teddy living with cancer instead of dying with cancer. He lost his brave battle on January 8, 2010. Teddy’s vet felt it was a miracle that he survived for so long. Our family knows that it was a miracle, thanks to Susan. We were blessed to have found her. She made it possible for us to have extended time with our wonderful Teddy. Susan and her team are professional, well-informed, caring, and most responsive. The ability to consult with Susan by phone and e-mail is extremely convenient. We highly recommend her services, particularly when pets are young, to start them off on a healthy, all-natural diet. –The Nardoni Family 2010
 Ranger
Feline Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) "I ordered herbs for Ranger, my 14 year old cat, on Friday Jan 29th, 2010. To my great surprise, they arrived here in Upstate NY on Monday Feb 1st! Ranger, my kitty was near death. She hid to sleep constantly. Usually cats hide to die. She was in really bad shape. I had one cat die of liver disease and two others from renal failure. Ranger is my third cat with renal failure so I know how they act before they die.
Anyhow, Ranger was near death on Feb 1st when your supplements arrived. I gave them to her but assumed she was probably too far gone by this time and I was kicking myself for having waited too long. However, after 3 -4 days, she started eating more, was more alert, sleeping less and feeling so much better.
I know she isn't cured...but your supplements are giving her more quality time with me. For that, I am truly grateful. I know she is 14 but I can possibly see that if she stays the same as she is now, maye she will be around awhile more. THANK YOU!!!!! Daniel Mark Lafler April 2010

Bogey Moore Dog Cancer
"We found out that Bogey had a baseball-sized tumor near his heart, pressuring his heart and pulmonary artery in February 2006. Follow-ups with specialists determined it was cancer - chemodectoma - and not operable. Due to its location and type of tumor, radiation and chemotherapy were also ruled out as options. The specialists told us then that Bogey would have maybe 4 months to live. We were devastated.
We started researching alternate methods for treating cancers through diet and supplements, and spoke with Susan Davis in March. With her help, we created a dietary program for Bogey to combat the cancer, provide him with healthy supplements that would support his immune system, improve his heart function, and support him against the slow growth of the tumor and the symptoms of hypertension that it caused. We feel strongly that this has been a critical factor in Bogey's health care regime.
Its October now, and Bogey is showing very few symptoms - many days, none at all. Bogey still has cancer, but due to his nutritional program, and light doses of heart medication from our local vet, to date, Bogey feels good, and is active, alert, and having fun. His bloodwork has improved, and hypertension symptoms are almost non-existent.
We're hopeful that with continued focus on nutrition, diet, light exercise, and veterinary care, Bogey will continue to be with us for a long time."

Mouse Smith Cat Kidney Disease
Hi Susan,
“Just wanted to let you know that my 12 year old cat Mouse had bloodwork done yesterday. His previous levels were creatinine @ 6.0 which after a couple of weeks dropped to 4.8, it's now 3.0. BUN dropped from 70 to 40. I am just so happy and he looks great - has good energy, good appetite. Thank you so very much from both of us. Sending you PURRS and a big HUG!

Livermore, CA March 2007
P.S. Our vet had said not to expect weight gain beyond an ounce or two BUT mouse gained 18 ounces at that last visit, went from 8 pounds to 9.2. “
 Layla Canine Pancreatitis
"Layla is a 3 year old Yorkshire Terrier who was diagnosed with pancreatitis in October of 2008. Our vet wanted Layla to be put on canned prescription formula to manage this and I knew I couldn't do that because I didn't agree with the ingredients in these foods. I talked to a friend who had used Susan in the past for her Yorkie with great success. Our vet was quite sure that Layla's issues could not be managed with a home cooked diet but we were determined to try. From the moment I talked to Susan in our first consultation I knew that Layla was in good hands and that through her help, everything would be fine. Layla was put on a strict diet and along with Susan's LypoZyme and Probiotics. Layla's Spec numbers went from 740 (under 400 is considered normal) in October, down to 164 in February. Our family is beyond thankful to Susan and all that she has done to save our girl from a lifetime of horrible canned food. I recommend Susan to anyone I meet who is considering home cooking or who is dealing with a dog with health issues- I just can't say enough about how knowledgeable Susan is and how deeply she cares."

 Mia Inflammatory Bowel Disease
"About two years ago, I brought home my first kitten, Mia. At first, she was a playful bundle of energy, but then her health began to deteriorate. I noticed that Mia’s stomach was bloated and tight. She never seemed to be able to get comfortable, and she suffered from severe diarrhea and dehydration. We took her to four different veterinarians, even an Internal Medicine specialist. Mia was poked and prodded. She had blood tests, ultrasounds, and an expensive scoping procedure to get biopsy of her small bowel. She was finally diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. After trying four different dry cat foods and a long list of medications with horrible side effects, we were still frustrated and, worst of all, my kitten was still sick. We felt that the medications were a band aid for a larger problem. We wanted a solution that would not only relieve her symptoms, but one that would last. We finally decided to try a holistic approach. We did some research online, and found Susan’s website. After a consultation with Susan, we were ready to try a combination of herbal remedies and a wet food diet. Susan suggested we try Nature’s Variety wet cat food. The results were quick. After making the dietary and supplement changes suggested by Susan, Mia’s bloating and diarrhea disappeared! She was more alert, hydrated, and she had a beautiful, shiny coat. Mia is now a healthy, active two year old cat. Thank you Susan and Nature’s Variety."

 Jake Braun Labrador with Osteosarcoma
"I was devastated when my beloved Labrador Retriever Jake was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. He had a small growth on his paw. Jake underwent several rounds of radiation which were successful. The oncologist thought he had removed all the cancerous cells but warned me that there was a good chance the cancer might come back. I wanted to be sure I gave Jake the very best in nutrition and supplements to help rebuild his immune system and fight off the cancer. I am a pet sitter and Susan Davis spoke at one of our meetings. I decided to schedule a consultation with her to see what holistic care could provide for Jake. She gave me a diet specifically for Jake based on his food preferences and my lifestyle. In addition, she informed me about a number of supplements that could really help Jake. Jake responded very well to his new holistic regimen. He gained energy and his limp improved. It is now 8 months since I had my first consultation with Susan Davis and Jake is still happy and enjoying a wonderful quality of life playing with all his doggie friends. I am so grateful for every day I have with him and so glad I decided to try Susan's holistic plan."

Bruiser Chronic Yeast and Skin Problems
"Bruiser had chronic yeast and skin problems. We had been to the veterinarian many times but the problem would just come back. We scheduled a consultation with Susan Davis and followed her dietary and supplement recommendations. Bruiser's yeast finally cleared up and I receive many complements on how nice his coat looks. It was the best $75 consultation fee I could have spent".

 Wyatt Earp Canine Osteosarcoma
"In February 2007, our precious Rottweiler Wyatt was diagnosed with bone cancer. The lesion was on his left front wrist. The life expectancy was 2 to 6 months so we set out to help make Wyatt comfortable. Amputation was not an option for him. We went to a cancer specialist and got some great supplements. We went to an oncologist and she suggested a bone strengthener Pamidrinate that wouldn't cure him but might help with the pain and possibly retard the tumor a bit. She also suggested acupuncture and contacting Susan Davis for nutritonal support.
Susan designed a terrific, high protein, balanced diet for Wyatt and helped us with his ongoing care. It was thorough, detailed and fit into our lives. She was always there if I had questions. Her knowledge and support were amazing.
Ch Von Der Lors Wyatt Earp, CDX, RE, CGC, died on July 15, 2008. 17 MONTHS after his diagnoses and not from cancer. The cancer had progressed a bit, but still was contained in the area it had started. His oncologist Dr. Rosenberg, said she could not ever remember seeing a dog do as well as Wyatt did without amputation. He walked 1/2 - 1 mile daily, swam often and had a full life up until 6 hours before we had to put him to sleep.
Wyatt was truly a miracle and Susan was part of that miracle. I know his diet played a huge part in his well being and beating the odds. We will always be grateful to her for helping Wyatt live life to the fullest. Every single day he found something joyful to do."
The Combs Family California September 2008
  "Dear Susan,
Corny, but in all my 61 years, I don’t believe that I’ve ever written a testimonial, so here’s my first go at one. We consulted a month or so ago via phone about my then 5.5 month old kitten, Misha. Misha, a rescue from our local Humane Society, was in serious condition with hemorrhaging from her colon. Her veterinarian and I had exhausted all possibilities. You quickly identified the cause: food allergies and made some dietary recommendations which I followed. Misha’s veterinarian then started her on Sucralfate and Pepcid AC. In addition, I am adding 1/3 capsule of your Probiotic and 1/3 capsule of digestive enzymes to her pumpkin TID. Within 24 hours, Misha’s bleeding stopped. She loves the pumpkin, but adjusting to canned food and to rabbit took some doing and required an appetite stimulant. Although she still craves other foods, she is now gaining weight. I’ve learned that the pumpkin is essential, not only for its soothing properties, but for the fiber it provides in the absence of grains. She poops only every 48 hours. Misha was, when we consulted, a frightened and very sick kitten. So much had been done to her in order to save her life that she was literally undone.
So was I.
In addition to excellent, compassionate and concerned counsel, you also were aware of my stress and addressed this, as well as Misha’s problems. More, you wrote a personal letter of directions and support along with the products I ordered from you. I was impressed by what you did, Susan. And I thank you. Thank you. And again.
My university career was spent counseling/advising students of all ages, as well as teaching anthropology, so I was aware of your therapeutic expertise as we talked. But you did so much more: the over-time you spent while we talked; your willingness to be a resource; your sending samples of other products; and your personal touches, like the hand-written letter. I am, in addition to my professional “history”, a permitted wildlife rehabilitator with almost 40 years of experience under my belt. Appropriate nutrition is an on-going concern for those who work with wild species; yet I had not ever before encountered so compelling a need in one of the many cats I have rescued and loved over the years.
The service you provide is essential. It’s a gift. I would recommend you to anyone, and have.
Thanks, Susan. With a hug, Marg Smith"
March 2009 Bella Chronic UTIs & Yeast
Bella is our fourth and most sensitive golden. She developed chronic UTI's and yeast on her skin. We have always fed Bella premium dog food since she was a puppy. Feline Staph Infection, Cat Skin Problems
Molly Marie, our kitty, was very sick and had fleas, ear mites and hot spots when we rescued her. We took her to the vet numerous times and she was treated with antibiotics and steroids that proved to be unsuccessful. We had blood work done and determined that she had a staph infection on the hot spots as well as an infection in her pancreas and a UTI too. She once again took antibiotics and everything healed except the hot spots, which by this time had become a lot worse with the largest one being the size of a lemon. I tried organic shampoo, sprays and creams—nothing worked.
I consulted AskAriel and based on Susan’s recommendation, I changed her food and used the Pet Skin Package and I am so happy to report that Molly is on the mend. She is almost totally healed. Her largest spot is now the size of a dime and she is eating well and starting to gain some weight. Molly's hair is starting to grow back and her coat is very soft. I don't know what we would have done if not for Susan, her staff and her amazing products. My family and I thank her and most of all, Molly thanks her as she is getting better every day. Thank you Susan for all of your help and for how much you care about our little animals.
Sincerely, Shelley Bard in PA
Elmo Dog Itching and Skin Problems
“I am sharing my story about Elmo in the hope that it will help others who have experienced similar frustrations in caring for dogs with severe immune system problems. Elmo had mange as a puppy. He continued to suffer from skin disorders that manifested as red sores between his toes, on his groin area and in his ears. He was diagnosed with a severe case of immune disorder and chronic yeast infection. Elmo had always been given wholesome, high-end dog food. He was treated, at first, with Prednisone, then antibiotics. We switched back and forth between the two treatments as well as topical ear treatments for almost one and one-half years. Nothing seemed to change the situation. We tried various food combinations (all commercial products) but nothing made any difference. Then life changed in September, 2006 when I met Susan Davis. That meeting changed Elmo’s life. I read Susan’s website and had a consultation with her by telephone. After carefully considering Elmo’s history and case information Susan suggested a regime of supplements and dietary changes.
We have stayed with Susan’s advice over the last 45 days. She was straightforward and honest about the fact that it would take time to see results. I can honestly testify at this date, October 19, 2006, that Elmo is “itch” free. All symptoms are gone in terms of itching, redness and sores. We feel we owe a serious level of gratitude to Susan Davis for her thoughtful concern and the professional attention she has given to us. Thanks Susan!

Sara Bella and Adam Thorpe Irvine, California Canine Kidney Disease
"Sara Bella is an 18 month old Standard Poodle. She was diagnosed with Juvenile Renal Dysplasia (JRD). Her symptoms were lethargy, excessive drinking, weight loss and dilute urine. We only became aware of her condition when she was in complete renal failure and was treated on I.V. fluids for four days in the emergency hospital. This is a genetic disease and is only passed to a puppy when both sire and dam carry the recessive gene.
We brought Sara home after four days with directions to administer sub-cutaneous fluids once a day and feed her a low protein diet. The veterinarians gave her a very poor prognosis. The only other course was a kidney transplant from a full sibling which we did not consider.
We then contacted Susan Blake Davis and after a consultation put her on the supplements she recommended for canine kidney disease. Susan also recommended we go to Dr. Gordon for acupuncture. We started with 2 treatments per week and are currently at 1 per week. Although her appetite is poor and we mostly hand feed her, she is responding wonderfully to the regime of supplements and acupuncture. She is now back to 48 pounds and extremely happy and bouncy. We continue to gain each day, and are in hopes she will in time eat on her own again, more than just the few things she loves. We are extremely grateful for Susan's knowledge and help and highly recommend this course for any dog with canine kidney disease."
With thanks,

Sister Loves Krainz Chronic Dog Skin Problems

"Hi, My name is Sister Loves. For many years, I had the worst skin problems. I would itch my face and pull all my whiskers off. I had a terrible odor even though my mommy kept me really clean. I was tired and miserable from scratching, scratching, scratching. My mommy took me over and over again to the veterinarian and I was even on a special allergy diet--but still I kept scratching. One day my Mommy went to VCA Arroyo Animal Hospital and found out about Susan Davis and Dr. Gordon's holistic health program. They took a whole new perspective and developed a holistic plan for me. Instead of always having to take antibiotics and prednisone, we tried a variety of more natural approaches. In addition, they were able to finally discover one of the biggest problems I had which was contributing to my allergies. Turns out I had some trouble digesting my food and had excess stomach acid which was making me lick and feel very itchy. Susan Davis found just the right natural supplement for me and my tummy problems started to improve right away. It took patience and several visits to really see the improvements but I am happy to say that now I am like a new dog. I am feeling so much better and want to encourage people not to give up. Resolving chronic skin problems takes time. My mommy was really dedicated and by working with Susan Davis and Dr. Gordon, we finally got results after so many years. Woof Woof!"

"I wanted to share my story so that other people my age can know that there are alternatives and that you CAN feel better even at 80. Above is a picture of me with my best girl Selma. Selma has multiple sclerosis and it is my life's passion to look after her. Since we like to go places and explore the world (42 cruises!), I need to be well enough to constantly lift her wheel chair in and out of the car. Well, about three years ago, things really started to go downhill for me. I only had about 1/2 lung working properly and I was getting so out of breath. It became difficult just to go from the bedroom to the kitchen in our small apartment without having to take a rest just to catch my breath. I could hardly lift the wheelchair anymore and we were getting more sedentary. I never knew ANYTHING about holistic medicine but Susan Davis suggested we try something to see if it would help. I get good medical care at the VA and am involved in many free senior health programs. But, I was getting worse and worse and the doctor told me that I might soon need to be on oxygen.
The first product Susan started me on was her Q-Avail Co Q10 and then the Omega Synergy. I started to feel a little better so we then tried Renelix, Apo-Hepat and then ApoPulm, a special formula for the lungs. The last three were liquids that could all be mixed together. I must say I was pretty resistant to all the pills and potions but the results were worth it. I started to feel better and noticed that I had a lot more energy. Then we tried Cordyceps and Mycobactin and the rest is history. It has been several years now and my doctors can't believe that my oxygen test has IMPROVED from only 91% oxygen intake (90% means I would have to be on an oxygen tank) to 99%. Just wanted to share my story and encourage you not to give up. I have to go---Selma and I are off on another advernture!"

 Gunnar Canine Liver Disease
"My name is Gunnar. Here I am at my 16th birthday party having a blast. My mom did a consultation with Susan Davis and I am feeling so much better. I currently take Liver Rescue III, SAMe, and LypoZyme, which are all pills that help the liver. Since I have been on these pills, I have been feeling really great. My appetite increased and I have a lot more energy. My mom says that without these great products, I wouldn't be here and both of us highly recommend them!" December 2007 Oregon

Canine Diabetes Mission Viejo, CA "My name is Maverick and I am a 10 year old Miniature Pinscher Mix. My friends call me Ricky but I will come to just about anything if you have a tasty treat. You’d never know it from my sexy, studly stature but I was once a very sick old man and nearly died from complications related to diabetes and obesity. Basically, I needed a complete overhaul from my bad eating habits of cheese, kibble, milk bones (large ones of course!), table scraps and anything else I could beg for. By the time my mom realized there was a problem (I started to drink lots of water and lose weight rapidly), I was in a very serious state of ketoacidosis and liver dysfunction. My Mom knew that I had to give up my naughty habits to get me back on track.
My Mom contacted Susan Davis, the nutritionist at VCA Arroyo Animal Hospital. We scheduled a consultation with her and at first, we weren’t sure if I was so far gone that anything would even help anymore. She gave us a diet, exercise regimen and supplements to help my diabetes and liver problems. We also met with Dr. Gordon who carefully reviewed all my laboratory tests and worked with my veterinarian to regulate my insulin. Well, the diet, supplements and my daily romp at the dog park has made me a changed man. I went from a high of 26 pounds to 15 pounds and my veterinarian thinks that soon I may be able to come off the insulin. While I occasionally miss the old days of pigging out, I am such a hit with the ladies now that I don’t have time to think about it."
Fondly,

Gretchen Osteosarcoma
My 11 year old Gretchen, a shepherd mix was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her left front leg in March 2005. She was given 2-6 months to live, based on the statistics that this cancer type “always” spreads quickly. Gretchen had her leg amputed and six preventative chemotherapy treatments. She did not experience any negative effects from the chemotherapy (many dogs don’t). Following the chemotherapy, I sought the advice of Susan Davis, CCN. Susan gave me a healthy homemade diet for Gretchen and some supplements to help rebuild her immune system. I periodically meet with Susan Davis and Dr. Gordon for a complete holistic plan for Gretchen. In addition to conventional veterinary care for Gretchen,, she receives acupuncture and ongoing rotation of her supplements and diet to ensure we are giving her the very best. Gretchn is her same exhuberant self and is now 13 years old. She runs around the house, throwing her dolls around and plays with her little brother. The only thing that Gretchen cannot do is our previous daily mile-run. She is still full of energy and has had to learn to take slower, “sniffing” walks. We are thankful to Susan Davis, CCN and Dr. David Gordon for every day we have with Gretchen.

Cats With Feline Kidney Disease (CRF)
“First off, I want to THANK YOU for your excellent advice and products for our two cats with CRF. I started the cats on one drop of Renelix per day and worked up to the recommended dosage. From the FIRST DAY, I noticed a difference in our cat Ginny that has spells of vomiting, nausea, weight loss and lack of appetitie. She has improved, gained weight and her coat looks consistently better ever since! I also used the Gastro ULC tablet from the sample you sent me and Ginny came right out of her latest spell. I will be an Ask Ariel customer for the life of our cats!”

Murphy Ballard Dog Cancer New York
"Murphy was diagnosed with Stromal Sarcoma after a tumor on her spleen was discovered (which was removed through surgery) & was given 3 months (tops) to live. The vet told us to not even bother with chemo or radiation. This all happened in early August of '06. We contacted Susan Davis and did a consultation. She gave us a special cancer diet for Murphy and a supplement protocol based on her symptoms and type of cancer. It is now the end of April 2007 and Murphy is doing very well. She just celebrated her 8th birthday in March and still has has tons of energy & is so lovable. It is almost as if she knows every day is a gift. Thank you for all your care and concern. Murphy sends her love :)"
